View Full Version : What's your current favorite CD?

So, what's the current CD that you're excited about and recommending to everyone you meet? :D
For me, it's Gavin DeGraw's Chariot (http://www.gavindegraw.com/). :bouncy: It's been out a while, but they released a stripped down version of the album this past summer that has a nice blues sound to it. I actually prefer it to the original (rock) album he released. :ok: If you go to the website, you can hear the stripped down version of "Chariot".
And for anyone who watches, One Tree Hill (http://www.thewb.com/Shows/Show/0,7353,%7C%7C1490,00.html) on the WB, he sings the song at the beginning, "I Don't Want To Be". ;)

Current? Not sure that this is current, but I adore the Forrest Gump soundtrack. It has something for everyone.
For those people who love country like I do, I would say either Gretchen Wilson's "Here for the Party" or George Strait's "50 Number Ones."

You know, I haven't played a CD in full for a while now! I tend to put a music channel on the tv when downstairs or go silent in the bedroom!
Suppose it would have to be Maroon Five, which I've been listening to a lot in hubbys car! And a little at home when we had guests the other weekend!

No answer to this, as mine changes with my mood.... but I'd have to say the complelation CD that was done for my class reunion is close to the top. It contains songs that were popular during our senior year of school..and just listening to them can really stir the memories to crystal clarity!

I love the song (unreleased) #4--Because of You
It is so sad and so cool. I can listen to it 100 times and still want to listen to it again. One of the only songs I can say that about. It is a great CD and she is finally breaking away from that American Idol fame and coming into her own type.

Anyway, they started out as a Bluegrass band, but they add lots of other musical influences in with their music. Very cool sounding. Here's their bio if anyone's interested. ---> :bouncy: (http://www.nickelcreek.com/bios.htm)
And just for the record, I hate traditional Bluegrass. This band is different - considered Alternate Bluegrass, I think. At any rate, I like it. :ok:

Difficult to say really (though only about 20% of my music is on CD, the majority is vinyl), As far as new stuff goes, the latest by Mostly Autumn (Storms Over Still Water) is definitely up there, but Within Temptation's most recent album (The Silent Force) is also excellent. All time favourite though is still Renaissance Live at Carnegie Hall, recorded 1975, released 1976. I've almost literally worn out my vinyl copy, so I now have it on CD, but I'm after another decent vinyl one.

Amarantine, by Enya.
It's her best album yet. The same soothing music, but with a certain joyous quality you don't find in the other albums. It also breaks from tradition in that some of the songs are in "Loxian", an imaginary language that Roma Ryan developed. It's derived from elvish. Very flowing and rich sounding. Latin is also conspicious by its absence. Then there's the Japanese song, "Sumiregusa". :heartbeat
If you're an Enya fan, you won't be disappointed, and if you're not...well. Just listen to "The river sings" or "Sumiregusa". You just might be converted! :D
