I noticed today in our local newspaper that a 1983 graduate of my high school has set up a free website for all graduates from the school to sign in, post info about themselves, and contact other graduates. I think it's a great idea! :ok: I know there are other services online, but you have to pay for those.

Buh??
We have one in NZ, it's called Oldfriends and it's completely free, it's not just for one school or anything, but pretty much the entire country (LOL benefits of being small I suppose ;) )

This site is for our local high school. The other sites are nationwide for colleges/universities, and you can sign onto them for free, put up your information. If you want to look at anyone else's profiles, you have to pay an annual subscription fee - not something I'm interested in.

Well, I just don't know when to keep quiet. The fellow who started this freebie site last December just put up a message asking for Moderators, and which idiot currently in the room raised their hand?! :disguise: Yeah, that's me. It won't be much work though, as there are currently only about 25 members and not much going on there.

Heheheh! enjoy it Cilla! It is pretty cool, but I don't think a lot of the schools where I come from would have had enough students to warrant a site dedicated for it alone.

Our graduating classes from High School tend to be around 350, so over the years that's a fair number of people who might like to get back in touch with each other!

I think it's a great idea! :ok:Um, they have that already. It's called Facebook (http://www.facebook.com). And it's free (though, granted, it's no good if you don't have an alumni email account affiliated with your college -- like bob_alumnus@university.edu). ;>

I stand (or in my case, sit) corrected; at least partly. I signed up for a High School info board, and that costs money to get any info on friends. Now that I think of it, I remember this discussion about the college one being free, but you had to have a current, active email address from your college in order for it to "work". I don't have one, and can't be bothered trying to get one as the friends I made in college that I wanted to keep in touch with I already DO. This other message board I'm currently on is free, and only for the High School I graduated from.
