Ahhh, yes. Remebering my own 80's childhood. The Smurfs, The Ewoks. We never missed an episode of Jem or The Real Ghostbusters. (Strange that they weren't real at all!) The best was Looney Toons. I don't think that would be considered 80's, but it was played on TV then and is still played today.

Ohh. I fancied He-Man too. I didn't watch much TV when I was a kid, although during the year we lived in the UK we had a TV. I used to love the Marvel Comics cartoons, Spider-Man and the Fabulous 4 (?)...

I remember watching the old cartoons when I was a kid - Ducktales, Garfield and Friends, Tom and Jerry, Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show, Scooby Doo, Fantastic 4 (with the dorky inclusion of the robot and exclusion of the Human Torch :irked: ) and of course Spider-Man!

I remember getting up at ridiculous hours of a Saturday morning to make sure I didn't miss any cartoons. A couple of times, I ended up watching beach volleyball or Open University maths while I waited, although I payed absolutely no attention whatsoever to what was going on in either.

<sNIp>Yeah... right!

Coming from me, that might ring true but unless you've just failed to let on to something about your preferences, I'm thinking you may have taken some note...?

I was 7 years old, usually still a bit groggy from waking up, and far more interested in cartoons. If I were older, you might be right, but I was far too young back then.

Agreed. At that age, if it wasn't cartoons, it probably would have to have been monster trucks or something to catch your eye!

I had 3 boys during the 80's and the cartoons they watched were He-Man, Transformers, G.I. Joe, Gummy Bears, Duck Tails, Care Bears, Fraggle Rock, and if they thought nobody was watching them, My Pretty Pony. :D

I still recognize some of the voices from those cartoons.

Any UK readers remember Noel Edmonds on the Multi-Coloured Swapshop?
when it finished you'd always flip over to Tiswas on ITV, with Chris Tarrant and the Phantom Flan-Flinger.

My hubby bought me a video of Chorlton and the Wheelies last year.
It was called "Happiness is Dragon-shaped"
Bless him. :heartbeat

I remember Tom & Jerry, but I kept hoping that Tom would win for once. Jerry would have total run of the house, the owner would come up and tell Tom to catch the mouse or else, Tom would try to do just that and get all beat up, then the owner would kick Tom out of the house or some similar punishment. I always felt sorry for that poor cat.

I hadn't heard the Turtles theme song, or seen any of the images from the show, in a looooooong time. I *loved* that show! Great memories, cool link. :)

Edit: Oh my. Just scrolled down, and found this lovely quote... ;)

In todays (Sep 24th 03) UK Metro paper, Corey Feldman (who voiced Donatello in the live action film) was interviewed briefly... here are 2 of the questions...

Q. When you did Donatello, did you ever think you'd got a raw deal? Let's face it, he was a crap turtle.
A. I didn't percieve it that way. I always thought Donatello was the coolest.
Q. Come on. He had a wooden staff and purple headgear - hardly manly stuff.
A. He's a turtle, go give him some respect - and from what I hear, a lot of turtles don't have very big staffs. His is huge - he pulls it out and the girls drop in their pants. And purple is very manly. You wouldn't want orange or red - those are gay colours. Don't ******* with my Donatello.

I just remembered another one - Superfriends! It was kind of corny, but it had superman in it so I used to watch it.

LOL Faiz - Coreys Haim and Feldman were a couple of my favourite 80s actors!! I'm so sad they don't act anymore (though I'm sure they would if they could  gotta love Hollywood, you always know who's hot and who's not huh)

My favourite was Michelangelo. Although my brother and I played at being Donatello with a broom and a mop once.

Oh! The Raccoons!

Someone told me that Alanis Morriset (sp?) sang the theme song. Is that true?
