Do you enjoy reading daily papers and/or weekly / bi-monthly / monthly / quarterly magazines? Do you subscribe to any? Are you expected to read journals as a part of your work? Do you opt for broadsheets or tabloids?
What do you read, and why?

I only read the newspaper on the weekend when hubby and I go out to breakfast together before we run our weekend errands. As for magazines there are some that I subscribe to that are for scrapbooking.

Used to read daily newspapers from the previous week, as we only get one plane to the island each week. And since by the time they got here it was all old news, I usually only read the comics section. It was something the company did for all of us downrangers, but they've long since stopped doing that as yet another cost-cutting measure.
I occassionally read through The Islander (http://www.the-islander.org.ac/), a weekly newspaper published on the island. And I subscribe to a couple magazines.

The occasional Sunday paper and Macformat, which is monthly. I forgot to tick the local weekly paper too.

I get a weekly celeb gossip mag (HEAT) with television guide! Sure, I get it for the guide
I also get a weekly journal, Nursing Times, which is invaluable in keeping me abreast of current issues in nursing... I don't know what nurses do who don't subscribe! How does one keep oneself updated without such...?
On very rare occassions we buy a daily local paper or a weekend tabloid but it's so rare as to barely be worth mentioning!

I subscribe to our local paper, it comes out once a week. There's a free weekly paper from a town about 45 minutes away and I'll get one of those as well. There's a dialy newspaper that comes out of a city about 2 1/2 hours away and hubby will pick that up on his way to work. I've subscribed to 3 magazines, 1 is monthly the other 2 come out quarterly.

We get an all week local-ish newspaper that covers local and national and global news. We get monthly (I think) copies of "Sojourners" a progressive/liberal/christian magazine. We get a week-day newspaper called "The Christian Science Moniter"... its acctually REALLY fair and balanced.. go figure.

I read a daily newspaper. Now that I am retired I read it throughly. When I worked two jobs I skimmed. the good thing about papers is that you can get the general idea of an article in the first paragraph. I also get monthly Mags.

You didn't mention any online news sources. My local newspaper is now online, so are regional and state papers. Many of my magazines have also moved online and I found that I could get the info online before my magazine showed up at home.

All my news comes from the television and news related websites (only for looking up particualr stories like the tsunami). I don't have time to read and tv is always on in the background.

I sometimes borrow my mom's daily paper. I usually read the SUnday papaer. Our company puts out a magazine that gets mailed to all associates. I love Woman's Day.
I don't subscribe to any of them, though.

I really don't read any of them much. I'll sometimes skim through the Sunday paper, but mainly I just read the comics & tv guide. ;) If I remember, I pick up our town's weekly paper.
I love to read magazines, but I can't seem to get rid of them after I'm done. :erm: So I quit buying them.

I don't like newspapers. All they REALLY do is get in the way. I get my news from the telle.
I do read some monthly magazines - a TV guide and several motoring related journals, one of which I subscribe to.
Then there are the monthly journals of science I'm required to at least skim through every month...but which I rarely do since I can get most of the info I need online at the journal site itself directly without having to page though a lot of the drivel of unrelated sciences...much more convenient!

I read our daily local paper. I'm not much for magazines, though I try to keep up with a couple of pharmacy journals. :D
Most of my magazine reading is in the market checkout line when I read the headlines on the tabloids.

I occasionally pick up the local paper, but more often I read it online.
Same goes for USA Today.
I read and subscribe to Cat Fancy magazine and my husband gets a monthly from the VFW.

When I was commuting to London by train every day, I used to devour 2 or 3 papers per day during my trips. However, I've now cut that back to treating myself to weekend papers and the occasional daily during the week.
Similarly, I used to subscribe to several monthly magazines (usually specialist ones on topics that interest me) but I've cut these back to two or three mags I get which are work-related (to do with sound and broadcast engineering) plus anything that takes my fancy as I pass the magazine rack at the shop.
Still love the cryptic crosswords in my papers though!

I occasionally get the weekend newspaper for the entertainment section. But reading the actual news gets too depressing at times :(
