Ok,
This is slightly old news around our house now but I didn't want my story to be thought to be seeking sympathy so I've waited until now.
Everything WILL make sense as you read on...
Thingy, as most of you are aware is soon to be 18months old (doesn't time fly?) but was just on 17months when:
One night I had lifted him by my right arm around his chest with the lad facing away from me.
(this info. is important ;) )
I went over to ''Daddy'' so Thingy could give him his usual ''Goodnight Hi5'', but Bobbsy, being the  man that he is, decided to tickle his little boy's tummy...
Well, as any thriving toddler would do, Thingy shrieked with laughter, waved his arms at Daddy to fend him off, and kicked his feet...
Problem was, at the back of those fast moving heels was MUM !
Lad was put to bed with his usual angelic smile and went to sleep!
Next morning I was woken by our son and went to get up to attend to his urgent call, and yes, was hopeful of success with an attempt to persuade him to nap a tad longer.
BUT,
when I moved it HURT !!!
Bobbsy attended to Thingy and they breakfasted together downstairs while I was left to rest and call our Doctor.
As I'm medically qualified, Dr. and I came to the obvious conclusion that I had one nicely cracked rib!
I went in to see Doc later in the arvo just to be looked over and while trying to avoid the obvious sillyness of the situation I had to laugh when she made the parting comment ''Well, you've a Robust lad there!''
So,
next day was still pretty bad, but luckily Simon (Honeybear) arrived that night and although he thought I was joking when first told of my sorry state, he also aided me in some 'Get-Back' the following evening.
:darkside: Thingy OWED Me!
Thus,
while his adored big brother kept the Robust one distracted, I finally got around to Thingy's first haircut...
Here are the results :good:
(BIG Thanks to Si for the photo! )
Oh, and today is the first day I've really felt like my rib is mostly OK again!
:shhh:
