I've only read her trilogy so far, but am planning on getting into the others
The Sevenwaters Trilogy (http://www.vianet.net.au/~marill/seven2.htm)
I've heard good things about these Saga of the Light Isles (http://www.vianet.net.au/~marill/saga.htm)
The Bridei Chronicles (http://www.vianet.net.au/~marill/dark%20mirror.htm) and it looks like she's started another series - goodie! :D
In case anyone was wondering, she's a kiwi who also lives in Perth apparently, though I've not heard the area before :D

Not heard of Guildford? One of the oldest towns of the colony? It used to have it's own port and customs office for goods shipped up river.

There must be something about Perth for writers ;) she's is not the first writer I've heard of that has voluntarily moved to Perth recently :shhh:

I've heard good things about her but haven't had a chance to read her books yet. What are they like: funny, serious, easy to read...? Any author you'd compare her to? (just trying to find more info here :D)

Well, I better put spoilker in here if you don't want to know, so if you don't want to know, don't look! The main character is a young girl with I think 7 brothers, and she get kidnapped at the start of the book, and her brothers are transformed into birds and she is the only one who can save them but if she says a word before her brothers are restored to her they will never be restored - so she is kidnapped, taken to a distant land and to actually change her brothers back she has to make a coat or something for each of them out of some prickly vine so each stitch is agony for her, so I guess I'd say they're a tad melancholic but riveting nontheless! I hope that helps a little, I'm not too good at describing stuff, which is why I don't write! LOL

It's based on an old legend/myth/folk tale but I can't remember where from right now. I thought the Sevenwater's Trilogy was excellent but I haven't read anything else by her.

*edit* I found that it's a retelling of an ancient Celtic myth just now.
